A 10-week series on Thursdays at 6p. Please preregister for the entire series.
Description
Why Practice Tai Chi? Utilizing the teachings of Tai Chi (pronounced tie-jee), a form of moving meditation rooted in martial arts, this 10-week series class is a realistic approach to maintain and improve overall mental and physical wellness. Other benefits include: improving strength, balance, flexibility, and focus. Often referred to as “the dance of Qigong,” Tai Chi strings together a series of continuous movements to facilitate enhanced circulation throughout the entire body. The goal of this class is to learn the Sun Style Tai Chi Short Form. The real benefits of Tai Chi come from consistent practice over time. Ideally this is a class that builds a foundation for you to be able to practice on your own. With a focus on keeping classes light and enjoyable, Ed creates an inviting atmosphere to entice students back class after class. Drawing from more than 35 years’ of study and practice in the martial arts, Ed Kehoe shares his wealth of knowledge with students of varying age groups and mobility levels. The multiple benefits of Tai Chi appeal to a wide range of audiences. From college students and working adults to senior citizens and the elderly, this class guides students through a series of slow-motion movements paired with meditative focus and concentration to produce comprehensive results.
